In My Mailbox (41)

**This is my last IMM post. I will be starting Stacking the Shelves next time, hosted by Tynga's Reviews.**

This week I got...

Bought
Dreamless (Starcrossed #2) by Josephine Angelini
{Goodreads | Book Depository | Amazon}
Intuition (Intangible #0.5) by J. Meyers {Goodreads | Amazon}

For Review
Rapture (Fallen #4) by Lauren Kate {Goodreads | Book Depository | Amazon}
Sovereign Hope by Frankie Rose {Goodreads}

DREAMLESS IS SO SHINY. I was in the bookstore last weekend and saw it shelved early and... let's just say I had a moment. A hugging-the-book-jumping-up-and-down-smiling-like-an-idiot moment. And then I got approved to review Rapture on NetGalley and I squealed a bit... a lot actually. I'm so excited to read these books. As for Intuition, I just finished reading Intangible and think it'll be really neat to get more insight into Luke and Sera, and what they were like before Intangible. And Sovereign Hope looks like an awesome self-published book that I'm excited to read. Check it out on Goodreads!

Now that I'm finished school (yay!), I've started accepting a few books for review again. So I have some to share with you this week! Here's what I got:

Bought
Devoted (Elixir #2) by Hilary Duff {Goodreads | Book Depository | Amazon}

For Review
Glitch by Heather Anastasiu {Goodreads | Book Depository | Amazon}
Deadly Intentions (True Intentions #2) by Lisa Kuehne {Goodreads}
Florence by Ciye Cho {Goodreads}
Thanks to St. Martin's Press, Lisa, and Ciye for the ebook review copies!

I'm really excited to read all of these books! I'm happy that I'll have more time on my hands and hopefully be able to read a lot of books this summer. And it makes me really happy that I can accept review books again.

I haven't done an IMM in a while because I've actually been good about not spending my non-existent money on books. So this collection has been gathered over the last month. Here's what I got:

Bought
Hallowed (Unearthly #2) by Cynthia Hand {Goodreads | Book Depository | Amazon}
Immortal City by Scott Speer {Goodreads | Book Depository | Amazon}

Bought
The Iron Queen (Iron Fey #3) by Julie Kagawa
{Goodreads | Book Depository | Amazon}

For Review
Intangible by J. Meyers {Goodreads | Amazon}
Thanks to the author for the ebook review copy!

Borrowed
Destiny and Deception (13 to Life #4) by Shannon Delany
{Goodreads | Book Depository | Amazon}
New Girl by Paige Harbison {Goodreads | Book Depository | Amazon}
Fracture by Megan Miranda {Goodreads | Book Depository | Amazon}

Half of these were just acquired yesterday, so I don't feel like I've been hoarding a bunch of books that I got and just not telling you ;).

Hallowed and Immortal City were gifts to myself for completing my teaching placements. I'm officially a teacher!! I'm looking forward to a summer of just working and reading and laying by the pool. And of course, devouring all the books I've been meaning to read for so long!

I haven't gotten any books in a while because I was in Kenya teaching. I did have a review book in my inbox when I got home, and took advantage of a sale at Chapters to pick up a few books I'm dying to read! Here's what I got:

Bought
Pandemonium (Delirium #2) by Lauren Oliver {Goodreads | Book Depository | Amazon}
Fever (The Chemical Garden #2) by Lauren DeStefano {Goodreads | Book Depository | Amazon}
Above by Leah Bobet {Goodreads | Book Depository | Amazon}

For review
Long Night Moon (Seasons of the Moon #3) by S.M. Reine (ebook) {Goodreads | Amazon}
Thanks to the author for the ebook review copy!

I've already made my way swiftly through Long Night Moon and loved it. S.M. Reine is one of my favourite self-published authors, and this series is definitely at the top of my favourites as well.
As for the other books, I'm so excited to read the two sequels because the first books in these series were some of my favourite debuts from last year. I'm really excited to read Above because it's a 2012 debut and the author is Canadian! That's even Toronto on the front cover! I also feel special, because it's not even out anywhere else until next month ;)

This week I picked up a few ebooks for my trip to Kenya. Since I'm only bringing my Kobo, I needed to stock up. Here's what I got this week:

Bought:

Dream Dark (Caster Chronicles #2.5) by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl (ebook)
{Goodreads | Amazon}

Immortal Beloved (Forest of Adventures #2) by Katie M. John (ebook)
{Goodreads | Amazon | Book Depository (pb)}

Wings of the Wicked (Angelfire #2) by Courtney Allison Moulton (ebook)
{Goodreads | Amazon | Book Depository (hc)}

A Million Suns (Across the Universe #2) by Beth Revis (ebook)
{Goodreads | Amazon | Book Depository (hc)}

Fallen In Love (Fallen #3.5) by Lauren Kate
{Goodreads | Amazon | Book Depository}

So many lovely books that I can't wait to read! I don't know how much time I'll have to read while I'm in Kenya, but I'll be in transit for 24 hours both ways. So I'm betting I'll do lots of reading then. Hopefully I'll have lots of reviews to write when I get home!

Stopped in a the bookstore again this week! Picked up a few 2012 YA debuts that I'm excited to read and count towards the 2012 Debut Author Challenge. My lovely dog was nice enough to help me showcase what I got:

Bought:
The Lover's Dictionary by David Leviathan {Goodreads | Book Depository}
Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi {Goodreads | Book Depository}
The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight {Goodreads | Book Depository}

Received from RAK:
Half-Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout {Goodreads | Book Depository}

So excited for these books! I had to travel to a different Chapters to get them, because my local Chapters apparently has recently decided to have crappy selection... They just don't have a lot of the new books coming out, especially debuts. I also decided to pick up THE LOVER'S DICTIONARY since it just won an Alex Award.

I'm so happy to have HALF-BLOOD!! I've read it and it's amazing. I got it from RAK from the lovely Cassay at Vamps, Weres, and Cassay Oh My!. BIG THANKS CASSAY!! I'm super excited to reread it and can't wait for PURE!

Check out what I got in my mailbox this week:

Borrowed
Ashfall by Mike Mullin {Goodreads | Book Depository}

For Review
Ravenstroke (Universe Unbound #2) by Augusta Blythe {Goodreads}
In the Shadow of the Moonlight: The Awakening by J.J. Bidell {Goodreads}
Thanks to the authors for the ebook review copies!

Gifted
I also got this super cute bookmark from my friend as a late Christmas present. I totally love it. And it's totally me. So cute.

I've been wanting to read Ashfall for a long time, so my friend graciously lent it to me, even though we both know I'm buried under books to read. Still, I hope I get to it soon. She really enjoyed it.
Ravenstroke is the sequel to Winterborne, a self-published paranormal story that I really enjoyed. I'm interested to see where it goes next. (See my review of Winterborne here.
In the Shadow of the Moonlight intrigues me. The main character apparently turns into a panther, and it's originally a German novel that's been translated to English. I'm interested in seeing what this book is all about.

I was at the bookstore again this week (obviously) and wasn't intending to get anything, but of course I walked out with one book in my arms. My mom also picked up a gift for me last time she was at Costco!

Bought
Eve by Anna Carey {Goodreads | Book Depository}
Gifted
The Hunger Games Trilogy Boxset by Suzanne Collins {Goodreads | Book Depository}

I've already read the first two books in The Hunger Games Trilogy. See my review for THG here and for Catching Fire here. I'm about to get to Mockingjay. I hear it's pretty crazy.
EVE is one dystopian that caught my eye a while ago. I'm really excited to read it.

I haven't had the chance to do an IMM in such a long time! Mostly because I've been good about not buying any books, or receiving them. But of course, it's the holiday season and gifts are passed around, and so I got a few. Well, I got one, but I bought the others with the gift cards I got :). Here's what I received this week:

Gifted for Christmas
Beautiful Chaos (Caster Chronicles #3) by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl
{Goodreads | Book Depository}

Bought
The Near Witch by Victoria Schwab {Goodreads | Book Depository}
Legend by Marie Lu {Goodreads | Book Depository}
Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi {Goodreads | Book Depository}
Fragile Eternity (Wicked Lovely #3) by Melissa Marr {Goodreads | Book Depository

Bought for my Kobo
Hereafter by Tara Hudson {Goodreads | Book Depository}
Angel Burn by L.A. Weatherly {Goodreads | Book Depository}

I definitely didn't mean to buy 4 books at Chapters. Really. I meant to buy 1. But that's what happens I suppose. And like I said, I haven't bought many books recently, so it felt really nice to leave the bookstore with so many new books tucked in my arms! And then I came home and was looking at ebooks on Kobo.com and bought two more! But they were crazy on sale (Hereafter: $0.99CAD; Angel Burn: $3.39CAD), and I'm filling my Kobo with books because I have a long trip coming up!

I can't wait to read any of these. They all looks amazing and I'm so excited to jump into them.

I was home this week and took a trip to Chapters with my best bookie buddy. We bought a few books, and also swapped some we thought the other would like. Here's what I got this week:

Bought
Silence by Becca Fitzpatrick {Goodreads | Book Depository}
Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare (paperback) {Goodreads | Book Depository}

Borrowed
Catching Fire (Hunger Games #2) by Suzanne Collins {Goodreads | Book Depository}
Mockingjay (Hunger Games #3) by Suzanne Collins {Goodreads | Book Depository}

I'm so so excited to read SILENCE and see where Becca Fitzpatrick takes the story next. And since CLOCKWORK ANGEL just came out in paperback, I figured there was no better time to pick it up. My friend lent me her copies of the second and third Hunger Games books because she finally gave me back my copy of THE HUNGER GAMES for me to start reading. I can't wait to read all these awesome books!

Here's what I got this week!

Gifted
The Replacement by Brenna Yovanoff {Goodreads | Book Depository}

Bought
A Beautiful Dark by Jocelyn Davies {Goodreads | Book Depository}
Awaken by Katie Kacvinsky {Goodreads | Book Depository}

Thanks to Clara at The Wannabe Knight for the RAK of The Replacement! I kept seeing this on the shelf, and I actually almost picked up the paperback a couple weeks ago. Good thing I didn't! I can't wait to read it. I've heard it's amazing.

I'm super super excited for the other two books. I've been waiting for A Beautiful Dark to come out, so I knew I had to pick it up. Awaken is one I've been looking for but could never find on the shelf, so I went ahead and bought it online.

This is what I got in my mailbox over the last two weeks:

Won/Gifted
Once Every Never by Lesley Livingston {Goodreads | Book Depository}
Won from Tynga's Reviews and Penguin Canada
The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter {Goodreads | Book Depository}
RAK from Misty at Bookaholics Book Club

For Review
Ember by Carol Oates {Goodreads}
Thanks to Omnific Publishing for the ebook review copy!

Yeah, it's been a slow couple of weeks, but that's okay. I have a lot of books to read and less time than before to read them. Darn school keeping me busy. But either way, I'm super excited to have these books, and I know there's a few more on the way. So expect another IMM from me either next weekend or two weeks from today!

Here's my haul from the past two weeks! (But really I got almost all of it this past week.)

Bought from BookCloseouts
Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr {Goodreads | Book Depository}
Ink Exchange by Melissa Marr {Goodreads | Book Depository}
Evernight by Claudia Gray {Goodreads | Book Depository}
Wondrous Strange by Lesley Livingston {Goodreads | Book Depository}
My Fair Godmother by Janette Rallison {Goodreads | Book Depository}
Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler {Goodreads | Book Depository}

All of those books, except Timeless, I got from Book Closeouts, an online bookseller in Canada. They had all their kids books on sale for $1.49 a piece. Along with these teen/YA books, I also grabbed some teaching tools for my future classroom:

These look like they're going to be awesome resources. They're all part of the 100 Facts series from Miles Kelly Publishing. The ones I got are:

Birds, World Wonders, Myths & Legends, Rainforests, Weather, Rocks & Minerals, Monkeys & Apes, Ancient Greece, Big Cats, Polar Lands, Bears, Ancient Rome, Endangered Animals, Elephants, Mammals, Knights & Castles

I can't wait to use them in some lessons.
