Waiting on Wednesday (42)

"Waiting on" Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that showcases upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating!

This week I'm waiting on:
Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Publication Date: December 6, 2011

Synopsis:
Starting over sucks.
When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring…. until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.
Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.
You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don’t kill him first, that is.

Why I want it: I loved HALF-BLOOD, Jennifer's debut novel and first in the Covenant series, when I read it in the summer. Her characters have wit and her plot lines are exciting. I couldn't put it down. I think OBSIDIAN sounds like a different book that what we're used to these days. Not many authors are writing about aliens. I don't think the cover is the greatest, but I can live with that.

What upcoming releases are you looking forward to?

  8. That's true that there haven't been too many alien-type books around. I didn't realize that was what Obsidian about actually, though I've seen it around. I really need to read Half Blood soon though. I see so much love for that book!
Looking forward to your review :)

  9. I've seen Obsidian around the net, but that cover is such a turn off, that until now, I haven't even bother to read the book blurb. Which is such a shame cause the blurb makes the book sounds like something I would read. Great WoW book choice by the way.
