Teaser Tuesday (64)

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly meme, hosted by MizB of Should be Reading.
Here's what you do:
Grab your current read
Open to a random page
Share two sentences from somewhere on that page
Share the title and author
Try not to include spoilers!

This week I'm reading The Iron Queen, the 3rd book in Julie Kagawa's Iron Fey series. Here's a teaser for you:

Of course, being in a cemetery, a Grim might also be a grinning skeleton in a black cowl, gliding down the aisles with a scythe in hand. I shivered and cursed my overactive imagination. So help me, it didn't matter if Ash was here or not, if I saw that coming, people on the other side of the city would hear me scream.

I think my favourite thing about this quote is that, even though they're in a scary cemetery with who-knows what, there's still some minor humour to lighten the mood for the reader. Julie has a good writing style like that.

Feel free to share your teasers with me. I'd love to see what you're reading!

I really enjoyed this series. My teasers are for Chasing the Skip by Janci Patterson and The Birthday Scandal by Leigh Michaels. Happy reading!

Great teaser! I really want to start this series soon and I am so awful for not having read it yet! Here is my teaser for Alice in Zombieland!

Great teaser. I love the exaggeration / hyperbole -- "people on the other side of the city would hear me scream."
