Waiting on Wednesday (19)

"Waiting on" Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that showcases upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating!
I first heard about it from PageTurnersBlog.

My Waiting on Wednesday this week is:
Abandon by Meg Cabot
Publish Date: April 26, 2011

Synopsis:
Though she tries returning to the life she knew before the accident, Pierce can't help but feel at once a part of this world, and apart from it. Yet she's never alone . . . because someone is always watching her. Escape from the realm of the dead is impossible when someone there wants you back.

But now she's moved to a new town. Maybe at her new school, she can start fresh. Maybe she can stop feeling so afraid.

Only she can't. Because even here, he finds her. That's how desperately he wants her back. She knows he's no guardian angel, and his dark world isn't exactly heaven, yet she can't stay away . . . especially since he always appears when she least expects it, but exactly when she needs him most.

But if she lets herself fall any further, she may just find herself back in the one place she most fears: the Underworld.

Another mythology retelling! I'm super excited to read this one. It's a retelling of the myth of Persephone and Hades, and how he kidnaps her and brings her to the Underworld. It's a really good story, actually! I'm excited to see Meg Cabot's twist on it!

And if you don't know yet: I love book trailers. So here's the one for Abandon.

  4. I love Greek myths! And this book is probably the 3rd one I'd read about Hades and Persephone. I've already read Falling Under and The Goddess Test.

I wonder how Meg Cabot will "retell" the story here.

Thanks for visiting my blog. ^_^

  9. I love love love things involving mythology. I hardly ever read Meg Cabot for some reason. (I think it's because she has too many books for me to choose from. I don't dislike her as a writer.) This is going on my to-read list for sure.

Thank you for visiting my blog!
